IS University, located in Kolkata was established through the JIS University Act 2014, which came into force in 2015. The university encourages entrepreneurship and skill development among the students to promote employability and self-employment. JIS University Kolkata is approved by UGC, AICTE, NCTE, PCI, and the Bar Council of India. It is a private university and is accredited by NAAC.
